Healthy individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 are encouraged to come out and join the BE THE MATCH registry on Larchmont this Tuesday, August 30th, 2:00-10:00 pm at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Being a stem-cell donor is an incredible opportunity for an ordinary individual to save a life. Anie Gevorgian has been fighting lymphoma and now needs a bone marrow transplant. You may be her match or a match for one of the many other patients in need.

It takes only minutes to sign up – fill out a short form (strictly confidential) and the inside of your cheek will be swabbed to obtain some tissue. City of Hope and volunteers will be there 2-6pm, and Anie's husband Tadeh will be there 6-10pm.

October 2011 Book Sale at John C Fremont Library

In order not to clash with Yom Kippur, the Friends of the John C Fremont Library are holding their monthly book sale THIS Friday 30th September and Saturday 1st October.  There will be many bargains and rarities, CDs, audio books, DVDs and videos.
