Fire on Lucerne, a block west of Larchmont

Auto fire at around 11:20 am... Confined to the garage by LAFD firefighters... The detached garage burned down but the main house was left undamaged. Billows of smoke could be seen from more than a mile away in Hollywood and Miracle Mile. No injuries reported. Traffic on Larchmont was temporarily affected as a lane had to be blocked off as part of the fire trucks' staging area.

Initial reports on Twitter identified the location of the fire as being behind the illegal restaurant Larchmont Bungalow, due to the direction of the smoke and the KTLA news van parked right in front of 107 N. Larchmont.

The fire was knocked down in 14 minutes by 34 firefighters. A large number of firefighters was sent out because it was first called in as a structure fire. The cause is still under investigation.
