November 2011 Book Sale at John C Fremont

The Friends of the John C Fremont Library are holding their book sale this month on Friday the 4th and Saturday the 5rd. There will be many bargains and rarities, CDs, audio books, DVDs and videos.




Address: 6121 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90038. Cross street is June.

There is a small parking lot at the library. Parking is also available on all local streets.


Donations: Please no National Geographic magazines or out-of-date legal, medical, or text books, but they will be happy to take any books, videos, DVDs, CDs or audio books that are in good condition. Please bring them to the Book Sale or the Library.

Support your local library by becoming a Friend of the John C Fremont. Membership is $10 per year, and applications are available in the library or at the Book Sale.

Haunted Hollow 2011

Step inside if you have the guts. Walk through a horror-filled corn farm, slaughterhouse, and torture chamber. It will be the most terrorizing encounter of your life!

FREE ADMISSION (donations optionally deposited into a provided box will go to UNICEF)

This is a Haunted House with live performers and is NOT recommended for children under 10.

Bone Marrow Drive on Larchmont

Healthy individuals between the ages of 18 and 60 are encouraged to come out and join the BE THE MATCH registry on Larchmont this Tuesday, August 30th, 2:00-10:00 pm at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

Being a stem-cell donor is an incredible opportunity for an ordinary individual to save a life. Anie Gevorgian has been fighting lymphoma and now needs a bone marrow transplant. You may be her match or a match for one of the many other patients in need.

It takes only minutes to sign up – fill out a short form (strictly confidential) and the inside of your cheek will be swabbed to obtain some tissue. City of Hope and volunteers will be there 2-6pm, and Anie's husband Tadeh will be there 6-10pm.
